Abstract

The article focuses on a retrospective cohort study which investigated the effect of environmental cleaning intervention on the risk of acquiring vancomycin-resistant enteroccocci (VRE) or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from prior hospital room occupants. The study was conducted among patients admitted to several intensive care units. The environmental cleaning intervention is composed of targeted feedback using black-light market, cleaning cloths soaked in bucket with disinfectant solution, and increased informed education.
