Abstract
- Passengers from the lower 48 traveling to Alaska using its ferry system will be able to go farther north than before with new service that deposits them 60 miles south of Anchorage. Beginning June 4, the new service, from the Alaska Marine Highway System (ferryalaska.com), will run every other week, departing Bellingham, Wash., and arriving in Whittier four and a half days later. Much of the route follows the same Inside Passage plan popular with cruise ships, including stops in Ketchikan, Juneau and Yakutat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
