Abstract

The article presents a paleontological study on the occurrence of the long-snouted crocodyliform fossil "Terminonaris" from the Woodbine Formation of Lewisville Lake in Denton County, Texas. It provides phylogenic description of the nasal of the fossil, and elaborates diagnostic characters of the genus specie which include the anterior terminus of premaxillae, the posterolateral process of squamosal, and the lateral termination of the paroccipital process. Meanwhile, it concludes the "Terminonaris" occur in marginal marine and offshore deposits due to its warm-temperate water along the margins of seaways.
