Abstract: News briefs on sports are presented. Researchers at the Boston University School of Medicine said that an examination of the brain of former football player Dave Duerson revealed that Duerson had a brain disorder associated with the sport. Sportscaster Tom Durkin announced he would no longer announce the Triple Crown horse races. A U.S. appeals court issued a preliminary injunction continuing the National Football League (NFL) lockout.
