This paper deals with tall buildings erected in the City of Havana that are used as apartments and lodgings representing the Modern Movement built during the 50's in the XX century. An architectonic typology since the beginning of the XX century is discussed to understand the transformations that had taken place. Emphasis to different elements such as space, adequate climate, volume treatment and their formal expression is made. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
