Long-term safety and efficacy of drug-eluting stents.

In this article, the author discusses aspects of the effectiveness and safety of drug-eluting stents (DES) which are utilized as a treatment for coronary artery disease. The author explores the study concerning the differences between two second-generation DES such as the Xience V everolimus-eluting stent (EES) and Resolute zotarolimus-eluting stent (ZES). The author states that the study showed that the non-inferiority result was maintained even after the dual antiplatelet therapy cessation.
