In this article, the European dilemmas of the year "2009" are focused from an unusual angle: from Central Europe and Eastern Europe. The premise is that this nontraditional approach allows a better appreciative of Europe, understood as a complex region, diverse and united under constant dynamic approaches and separations of the individual interests of each country, whether or not a member of the Union. It is clear that the EU is an achievement for the whole continent, however, are questions and unresolved issues, in addition, some of these relate to the future of enlargement of the Union and NATO, and it seems not always problems can be understood well enough if you look at and analyze exclusively from Brussels.
