Abstract: The article presents a discussion about the state of Internet gambling, particularly poker, in the U.S. The enactment into law of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006 has formed companies out of the U.S. market. However, the U.S. market has good potentials and there are several proposals related to Internet gaming. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to lobby for the effective regulation of online gaming.
