Abstract
- Discusses significant differences in the temporal organization of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep microarchitecture in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). REM latency longest in in men with MDD; Decline of slower frequencies across REM periods, with a significant REM period effect for delta, theta and alpha amplitude; Systematic temporal changes in electroencephalography over successive REM sleep periods.
