Abstract
- The article examines so-called experential gift cards offered to consumers by retail stores. The stored value cards offer consumers services such as travel, restaurant meals and adventure tourism rather than require a purchase from the retail store itself. Companies which market the cards are examined, with the firm Smartbox the primary example cited.
