Abstract

This paper describes the design, creation and evolution of a Technopedagogical training model for higher education teachers. The model is strategically important for teachers in order for them to generate technological competences. These competences will allow them to create, store and reuse content as well as use educational software and systems to manage their course contents. Some results have shown that teachers trained in this model immediately apply the learned strategies to transform traditional course content into electronic interactive material. Also the results have shown that teachers overcome technophobia as a result of these technological competences. In this paper the dramatized term "technophobe" has been used to describe those teachers who are not confident on using the information technology in the traditional courses. The English acronym DIY (Do It Yourself) has also been used in this paper to describe how teachers themselves, use this model to transform traditional course content into electronic interactive material, and at the same time to get over technological phofia by trying the technopedagogical model features.
