Abstract: The article discusses the challenges posed to Portugal's economy by its uneducated work force. Fewer than 30% of citizens between the ages of 25 and 64 have graduated from high school. Portugal's government will likely need a bailout from the European Union to address a financial crisis, and earning the money to pay those loans back will be a difficult task for its unschooled workers.
