Abstract

The article discusses the importance of the Harvey Milk Day in addressing heterosexism issues on educational culture in California. It says that heterosexism, which pervades public schools in the country, is the fear and hatred of people with alternative sexual orientations and forms of gender expressions. It notes that the Harvey Milk Day encourages educational institutions to discuss gender and sexual issues with their students.
