Abstract
- The article discusses the role of cats in modernist writing, particularly commenting on distinctions between humans and animals in literature. Several books are discussed, including the memoir "Noa Noa," by artist Paul Gauguin, and the novel "Women in Love," by D.H. Lawrence. The author also analyzes the comic strip "Krazy Kat" by George Herriman and the comic book character Catwoman, created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane. The writings of American author H.P. Lovecraft are also considered.
