Abstract
- The article discusses a disagreement between smartphone maker Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM) and wireless service providers such as AT&T Inc. over how data related to mobile-payments technology will be stored in smartphones. The providers want the data to be stored on portable memory cards that can be swapped among phones, while RIM wants to embed the data in the phone itself.
