Abstract
- New localities in the Bahamas and Mexico are reported for six species of stygobitic and stygophilic mysids from the genera Spelaeomysis, Stygiomysis, Antromysis and Heteromysis. In addition, a new species, Palaumysis bahamensis, is described from a marine cave in the Bahamas. This genus had previously contained only a single species from anchialine caves in Palau, Indo-West Pacific. The biogeography and evolutionary origins of stygobitic mysids are discussed. An up-to-date key to the species of the genus Spelaeomysis is presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
