Abstract

Studies the role of IscA-type proteins in Fe-S cluster biosynthesis that involves the binding of either iron and/or an Fe-S cluster. Ability of an IscA homologue within the nif regulon of Azobacter vinelandii, (sup Nif)IscA, to bind iron and to assemble Fe-S clusters in a NifS-directed process; Purification and biochemical characterization of (sup Nif)IscA; (Sup Nif)IscA iron binding.
