Abstract
- This article reports that industry veteran David Sherman has been brought in by Indianapolis, Indiana Mayor Greg Ballard to head the city's Public Works Department and help with the remediation of its wastewater systems. In 2008, Ballard inherited an old consent decree to bring the city in compliance with the Clean Water Act and a project to expand its wastewater treatment systems. The city adopted a mix of value engineering and innovative green approaches to absorbing water runoff prior to reaching the upgraded wastewater treatment plans.
