Abstract
- The article discusses the study conducted by Steve Granick and colleagues on experimental example of bottom-up design, in which patchy colloids were formed ad hoc to self-assemble kagome lattice. It states that bottom-up design is a process of the patchy particles of the target structure. It adds that despite of the emphasis on the significance of the design, the field study has focused on the characterization of patchy colloids and the mixing of structures like micelles.
