Abstract
- This article discusses a study which examined the incubation behavior of the Blood Pheasant (Ithaginis cruentus), a uniparental bird of high-elevation forests at Lianhaushan Nature Reserve in southern Gansu Province in China. Using temperature loggers to study the behavior, researchers learned that egg predation was not associated with movements of females to and from nests. They also discovered that egg temperatures dropped rapidly once females left the nest.
