Abstract

The article discusses works by philosopher Martin Heidegger in light of his perspectives on aesthetics, architecture, and architectural aesthetics. The author presents an interpretation of Heidegger's works and argues that in the article "The Origin of the Work of Art," Heidegger presents a complicated view of the ontology of art and compares it to the philosophies presented in the book "Being in Time," also by Heidegger. He discusses the categorization of architecture based on physical properties as well as the object's perception and use. Buildings designed by architects Antonio Gaudi, Daniel Libeskind, and Frank Gehry are discussed.
