Abstract: The article discusses the use of dried blood spots by pharmaceutical companies to determine the fate of drugs in the bodies of patients. It states that dried blood spots has been used for pharmaceutical analysis since analytical instruments were not sensitive enough for the quantitative analysis required to obtain pharmacokinetic data. It notes that one of the disadvantages of dried blood sample analysis is that it is more time-consuming than the analysis of liquid samples.
