Abstract

The article presents a recap of conference presentations on the importance of hydration for health. Studies discover that sugar-containing beverages encourage obesity, while water does not stimulate insulin and does not influence metabolism. They also suggest that there is relation between increased carbonated soft-drink consumption and increased incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, a study suggests that kidney is more effective than a fluid deficit in fluid excess regulation.
