Abstract
- The article focuses on the Space-Based Infrared Systems (Sbirs) satellites by Lockheed Martin. It states that the U.S. Air Force plans on forcing greater capability out of new systems starting with the Sbirs. It mentions that the Sbirs was delayed due to the need to rework flight control software and adding a sunshade to protect infrared detectors. It comments that the first Sbirs is planned to be launched into geosynchronous orbit on April 30, 2010.
