Abstract

The article offers information decompression illness. The cause of decompression illness is the formation of intravascular or extravascular bubbles in blood or tissue resulting from a reduction in environmental pressure. Its two pathophysiological syndromes are arterial gas embolism and the common decompression sickness. Its diagnosis is made on a clinical basis. Possible symptoms include altered consciousness, confusion or seizure. They can occur in divers, compressed air workers, aviators and astronauts.
