Abstract
- The article presents information on a study which investigated the possible role of rodents of the subfamily Caviinae in the life cycle and speciation of hard ticks in South America, particularly in Argentina and Uruguay. Background on the subfamilies of the family Caviinae Fischer de Waldheim is given. A description of the research methods is presented. It lists the records of ticks on rodents of the subfamily Caviinae including Amblyomma pictum, Amblyomma tigrinum and Ixodes longiscutatus, among others.
