Abstract

The article focuses on a study which investigated the efficacy of vitamin B or omega 3 fatty acid supplementation in preventing cardiovascular events in patients with a history of ischaemic heart disease or stroke. The study included 2,501 men and women, aged 45 to 80 years, with a history of myocardial infarction, unstable angina or ischaemic stroke. Study authors found no benefit from daily consumption of vitamin B or omega 3 fatty acid.
