Abstract

The article presents a study on the annual and seasonal mean temperatures in Finland for 162 years. It mentions the use of weather observation data and kriging, a stochastic spatial interpolation method, to determine the mean temperature records. It discusses two calculation errors such as uneven distribution of stations in space and time, and homogeneity adjustments. It says that the increase in the annual mean temperature was statistically significant during the previous 100, 50 and 30 years.
