Abstract
- The article highlights the effect of non-surgical periodontal therapy on patients with type 2 diabetes with moderate-to-severe periodontitis. The study conducted by the authors put 60 patients with moderate-to-severe periodontal disease into a randomized, controlled clinical trial, where they were divided into two groups an intervention group and a control group. The authors found that their study was able to prove that significant contributions were brought by periodontal treatment in the improving glycaemic control among patients.
