Abstract
- This article provides a history of the musical production "Hair." This musical was written by Open Theater co-founder Gerome Ragni and fellow actor James Rado. Ragni first showed the script to theater impresario Joseph Papp, who helped Ragni and Rado to present the musical on stage. Selection of the first director for the musical by Papp is described. Problems were encountered with this production, such as casting and producer.
