Abstract

The author discusses the political situation in Tibet. She considers the country as a Chinese colony with Han immigration of two varieties as the method of colonization, first are rotating officials, technical experts, and 40,000 soldiers, and influx of ordinary Chinese who are offered incentives such as higher wages, lower taxes, housing, and allowances for altitude. She sees the inside world of Tibet as being prepared for still further ecological degradation.
