Biannual Geophysics event inspires young Russian scientists.

Information about several papers discussed at the Geophysics-2009 conference regarding the difficult times faced by the geoscientific industry is presented. Topics include the increased number of geological exploration companies that have closed, the lack of specialists in the industry, and the big gap between the older generation of geoscientists and young graduates.
