Abstract
- The article presents a study which examines the association between CD4 cell count and HIV viral load with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rates in patients with HIV in a U.S. healthcare system. HIV-positive patients were assessed for AMI. Findings of the study revealed that decreased CD4 count is significantly associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction.
