The article examines ongoing soldier modernisation programmes in the Asia-Pacific region, with emphasis on Australian efforts. It describes the Project LAND 125 Soldier Modernisation Programme of Australia, also called Project Wundurra, which aims to improve the operational performance of the dismounted close combatant. It explains the different stages of the project, as well as the defence companies that were contracted to handle the projects.
