AUTO-CONCEITO E AUTO-EFICÁCIA: SEMELHANÇAS, DIFERENÇAS, INTER-RELAÇÃO E INFLUÊNCIA NO RENDIMENTO ESCOLAR.

This paper presents a conceptual, methodological, and empirical revision of self-concept and self-efficacy constructs. As two related constructs, self-concept and self-efficacy share some similarities, for they are both grounded in personal competence perceptions. Nonetheless, there are important differences that imply the need for distinct operationalizations. From the empirical point of view, self-concept and self-efficacy are positively associated with each other and, even though they both emerge as important predictors of achievement, self-efficacy has a more prominent role in that prediction.
