Abstract
- AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- A second huge blast in a New Zealand coal mine on Wednesday would have killed any miners who may have survived an explosion days earlier, the authorities said. The police informed the families of 29 miners in the Pike River mine who had not been heard from since Friday's initial explosion that nobody could have survived. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
