Abstract
- The article presents a study which investigated the temporal and spatial variation of stable-isotope ratios and accumulation rates in the hinterland of Neumayer station in East Antarctica. Different basic parameters were calculated from stable-isotope measurements and characterized using a global meteoric waterline (GMWL). Results showed that the air-sea interaction could influence the dieletrical profiles of the hinterland cores. It concluded that the accumulation rate at the summit of Halvfarryggen acts as a natural barrier for moisture-carrying air masses circulating in the region from east to west.
