Lean Six Sigma in Health Care and the Challenge of Implementation of Six Sigma Methodologies at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The article discusses a study on Six Sigma and Lean Thinking in health care. The study described Six Sigma and Lean Thinking as quality initiatives that improve operational efficiency in health care and examined the implementation of Six Sigma approach at the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albany, New York. It was found that the team approach, the buy in of the stakeholders and the willingness of team members were the most important lessons learned in implementing Six Sigma methodology.
