Abstract

The article discusses the research-based role of discrepant events in conceptual change and its utilization during classes in Kentucky. An overview is presented for the advantages of using discrepant events in teaching science. The discrepant events that the students considered informative include the nature of science switcheroo, ball and funnel and color my world. It concludes that the utilization of discrepant events in teaching physical science and physics never ceases to amaze students.
