Abstract

The present research is an outcome of the comprehensive studies on the hydrobiology. and fisheries of Leond Tal of district Siddharthanagar, in Uttar Pradesh with special reference to aquaculture development in lake during the 1995-97. The aspects of study pertain to physiography, physico-chemical conditions of water, sediment nutrient status, biotic productivity including plankton, macrophytes, primary production, benthic productivity, fish fauna, fish catch, fishing gears used in Leond Tal, fish yield, production efficiencies, multi-commodity production, fish diseases, socio-economic condition of fishermen community and aquaculture based management system for accelerating fish yield of Leond Tal.
