Abstract

The article presents a study which discusses the pulmonary infections and risk of lung cancer among patients with AIDS. It mentions that the researchers evaluate lung cancer hazard ratios (HRs) using Cox regression and investigate whether AIDS-defeining pulmonary infections affected the risk of subsequent lung cancer. The authors concluded that increased lung cancer associated with pneumonia supports that chronic pulmonary inflammation contributes to lung carcinogenesis.
