Abstract

The article presents a study which discusses the effect of pregnancy on steady-state nevirapine pharmacokinetics (PK). It mentions that the Ugandan pregnant women were tested who are receiving nevirapine-based antiretroviral therapy. The authors concluded that the exposure to nevirapine were reduced during the third trimester of pregnant Ugandan women and asserts that the long-term impact of intermittent supoptimal nevirapine concentrations during pregnancy is unknown.
