Abstract
- The article discusses the bond market's equivocal views on prospects for deflation and inflation in the U.S. Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) issued by the U.S. Treasury protect investors from inflation and have risen close to 10% during 2010. Conventional Treasury securities, which would perform much better amid deflation rather than inflation, have appreciated about 9%.
