Abstract
- The article focuses on how various governors in the U.S. are dealing with the budget crisis and how they intend to save funds. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell states that they were able to save 14 million dollars per year by choosing the lowest-priced single supplier of office supplies. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger notes that the approval by the state legislature of his proposed pension reforms will lead to a drop in spending. Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell recalls that they granted financial rewards to state workers saving agency budgets.
