Why China Is Building the C919.

The article examines the construction of the C919 jet transport by China's aircraft industry company Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), which is government-owned. The government's willingness to fund production of the transport despite a low expectation of profit is considered as an example of its economic policy which is attempting to encourage industries more reliant on technology in order to increase wages and restructure the economy.
