Abstract

The article discusses the use by many marketers of a multicultural approach in advertising to target ethnic groups. The advertising agency Spike DDB designed its own logo with no color in order to show that it was open to any influences, according to its executive creative director (ECD) Dabo Ché. It is said that this outlook meshes with the attitudes of many young consumers who are not recognizing the differences of race. The fast-food chain McDonald's is one of the companies that apply an ethnic consumer perspective to marketing.
