Abstract

The article presents a study on the mutations of drug resistance to zidovudine/lamivudine/tenofovir in an antiretroviral therapy (ART) with no real-time viral load monitoring. HIV-1 RNA assaying of stored plasma and genotyping were done to explore the resistance. Results reveal that HIV RNA showed resistance to nucleutide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). The study concludes that the resistance tests yielded reliable data on the evolution and rate of drug resistance.
