Abstract

The article discusses the Minzu University of China in Beijing, including the architecture and the student population of the university, which is comprised primarily of Han Chinese. Minzu University is operated by the Chinese State Ethnic Affairs Commission. Autonomy movements in China that are led by the Tebetans, Uighurs, and Naxi are discussed. Universities like Minzu are used by the government to acculturate non-Han Chinese people into the national identity.
