This article presents the opinions of several authors and poets on Hilda Raz, editor of the periodical "Prairie Schooner." James Engelhardt regard Raz as a fierce defender of writers. Carole Simmons Oles states that Raz's educational compass continued to enlarge authors with a rich panoply of work, literary traditions and tradition-breaking.
