The article offers information on how to improve the performance of a process in a company. The process improvement program is compared with learning how to ride a bicycle. It states that like a first time bike learner is taught to ride on a simple bike, same way the managers should be taught about the process improvement program through simple statistical models and not include sophisticated improvement programs like analysis of variance (AOV) and statistical process control (SPC). An A3 report used for the process improvement program by Toyota Motor Corp. is also presented in the article. The A3 report is a simple model of problem solving on paper which focuses on problem, its analyzes, offers solution and implements the solution for the problem.
